Ethically Possible is built for you if…

You're an RBA(Ont.) and BCBA wanting to stop spinning your wheels working through your recertification requirements alone

You're figuring out which PD activities count where and wishing a colleague could talk it through with you

You've Googled the same question three times and still aren't sure you're understanding the requirements right

You're not sure how to do your Self-Assessment Guide and PDP, and you're second-guessing if your PD activities actually relate to your plan

You want a colleague to think out loud with, not another document to read alone

You want to connect with peers who get it and want to stop the unnecessary stress of staying on top of requirements for good

I needed this too

Honestly? I sat on the idea of creating something like this for years. I kept telling myself I'd get to it...when things settled down, when I felt ready, when the timing was right. Sound familiar?

What finally moved me was realizing that the thing I kept putting off building was the exact thing I needed myself.

I'm Melissa. RBA(Ont.), BCBA, and yes, I'm navigating the exact same requirements you are.

When the transition to being dual certificated actually happened, I found myself doing what I suspect you've done: opening the CPBAO documentation links, reading them twice, and still not being completely sure I was interpreting the changes and categories correctly. Not because I don't know my field after 20+ years, but because the overlap between two regulatory bodies with different frameworks is initially confusing and overwhelming.

What brought me out of my paralysis fog wasn't a perfect answer. It was thinking out loud with trusted colleagues who were in the same situation. That's what Ethically Possible is built on. And now, with 27+ founding members already inside, it's becoming exactly the space I envisioned. I can't wait to see where we take it to next.

Here's How It Works

1

Connect

Join a community of RBAs and BCBAs who are navigating the same requirements. Ask the question you've been sitting on. Find out you're not the only one who wasn't sure. Access resources as they are developed.

2

Practice

Bi-weekly group check ins, plus co-working drop-in sessions give you structured space to talk through category questions, PD planning, and tracking — with colleagues, not consultants or your supervisors. PD activities are shaped by what members are asking for and need next.

3

Grow

The goal isn't just to get through your declaration cycle. It's to build on what you already know so you can trust using your own PD system that makes the next cycle — and every decision after it — feel easy and clear. No more unnecessary stress!

Ethically Possible

Step into a community already moving.

Ethically Possible launched in April 2026 with founding members who have been shaping the community from day one. What gets built next comes from what members say they need. Here's what's already happening inside:

When You Join, You Get

Live Together

Bi-weekly group check-ins year round and drop-in co-working sessions to talk through category questions, PD planning, and tracking with colleagues. Show up when it works for you, leave with progress made.

Async Together

Discussion channels for the questions that can't wait, staying updated, or collaborating on the fly. Available anytime, no minimum participation required.

Onboarding & Support

A guided onboarding experience so you know exactly where to start. An optional 1:1 with Melissa, upon request, to get oriented and find your footing.

Beyond

Resources, templates, and structured learning as they develop. CPD events and BACB CEU certificates for qualifying activities. Collaboration opportunities and a peer community foundation that grows with you.

Come for the connection, stay for the support and PD activities driven by what you and your peers need next.

Here's What Changes

You stop navigating this alone — whatever "this" looks like for you right now.

Maybe you have a tracking system and it's working fine — you just want colleagues who understand the dual certification landscape to think through category questions with, or to count peer interaction activities alongside.

Maybe you had a system and stepped away from it — you know what to do, you just need the right people around you to do it.

Or maybe you haven't started yet and the June 30 deadline is sitting in the back of your mind getting louder.

All of that is welcome here.

You stop guessing and start knowing — because you've seen how three other people interpreted the same category and landed in the same place you did.

What Ethically Possible gives you isn't a prescription for how to do your CPD. It's the colleagues you've been missing — the ones who get it without needing a full explanation — so you can figure out your next right step, whatever that is.

Questions You Might Be Sitting On

About membership

What does signing up mean? Am I committing to anything?
Your first 14 days are completely free. When you register, you'll enter your payment details to hold your spot, but no charge happens until day 15. If Ethically Possible isn't the right fit, you can cancel before day 15 and you won't be charged. If you stay, you lock in the $15/month (or $165/year) rate for as long as you remain a member.
What happens after the 14-day free trial?
Your membership continues at $15/month or $165/year (your choice at sign-up). You can cancel anytime. If you stay, your rate is locked in for as long as you're a member, regardless of what future pricing looks like.
Why does this cost what it does?
Choosing the right professional community is a personal decision based on what's important to you right now, the type of support you're looking for, and the kinds of things the community actually does together. This is one of the main reasons why I've included a 14-day free trial — so you can figure out if Ethically Possible is for you.

Here's what $15/month reflects: Ethically Possible is a structured peer practice community, not a passive membership. There's active facilitation every week — group calls, drop-in sessions, moderated discussion channels, and what happens next is based on what members share they need. The rate covers what it actually takes to run a community that keeps moving with you. When new resources, courses, or opportunities are developed the members get them first. Your CPD activities (and CEUs) can be done right here too!

Engagement is flexible, too. A mix of asynchronous and live components, with a mix of group sizes. Whether you're looking to log in a couple times a month or a couple times a week, you can engage with the community in a way that works for you. No guilt that you're "not showing up" or that you're "participating too much".

Come as you are. We'd love to have you!
What if the cost is a barrier for me right now?
Reach out. If cost is a barrier for any reason, email me at [email protected] and let's talk. I'd rather have a conversation than have you count yourself out.

A few practical notes: some members have their membership covered through their employer's professional development budget — it's worth asking. Group or corporate rates are available for teams. And if none of those apply, still reach out. We can figure something out together.
Will pricing go up?
Yes. As the community grows and more resources, structured learning, and events are added, pricing will increase for future cohorts. Members who register during the May 2026 enrolment window keep the $15/month rate locked in as long as you remain a member. This is the lowest it will be.
When is the next cohort going to open?
The next cohort is not yet scheduled. Each cohort schedule depends on the community and Melissa's capacity for expanding and/or onboarding. When the next cohort is planned, it definitely will be announced. Considering the June 30th QA requirements deadline, EP is waiting for input from the EP community as we may need to fully shift efforts to coordinating PD activities to help members fill gaps before submitting their Declarations.

About if the community is for me

I don't want others to know how far behind I am, or feel like I'm bringing the group down.
This is probably the most common thing people don't say out loud. Ethically Possible is built specifically for this. The range of where people are is the whole point. Someone who hasn't started yet and someone who has a working system and just wants category clarification are both useful to each other. There's no performance required here.
I haven't started my CPBAO requirements yet. Is it too late to join?
No, and you're not alone. Many of our founding members hadn't started yet either. This community is built for exactly where you are. No judgement! Whether you're partway through or at square one, you'll have peers alongside you to cheering you on and open to collaborate.
What if I'm too busy to participate regularly?
The community is asynchronous-first. Discussion channels are available anytime. Live events are scheduled but not mandatory. Even checking in once a month to ask a question or read how others are handling things has value. There's no minimum participation requirement.
I don't like large groups and worry I won't feel comfortable.
The onboarding survey asks about this directly. If smaller group formats work better for you, that's something we can work with. Ethically Possible is designed to be navigable at whatever level of participation feels right.
I don't want to sign up for another thing I won't use.
Fair. That's why there's a 14-day free trial. No charge while you find out whether this fits into your life. The onboarding is designed to meet you where you are, not add to your plate.
I already have too many subscriptions and I'm in too many groups.
Also fair. The difference worth considering: Ethically Possible is built around your existing CPD obligations, not on top of them. The peer interaction activities count. The co-working sessions count. You're not adding work. You're getting credit for the engagement you'd want to be doing anyway.
Won't collaborating with others take more time, not less?
It can, if a community is unstructured. Ethically Possible uses facilitated calls and focused co-working sessions. You show up, you work, you leave. The discussion channels are there when you need them, not a stream you have to keep up with.
It would just be faster if I did this myself.
Maybe. But that's what most of us said last year, and here we are. The community doesn't slow you down. It removes the part where you spend 45 minutes second-guessing a category interpretation that a colleague could have answered in two minutes.
I'm already on top of my requirements. Is this still for me?
Then you're probably here for the peer interaction activities that count toward your CPBAO categories, or just to have colleagues who speak the same language without needing the background explanation every time. Both are valid reasons to stay.
How is this different from ONTABA or other professional groups?
Each community offers different things, and I love that you're wanting to understand the ways EP is different to help make your decision. Ethically Possible is designed around the questions that get us stuck and the peer support we need for meeting CPBAO QA requirements while managing BACB certification. It's a purposeful, peer-driven space with structure and accountability, owned and operated by Melissa Legree, RBA(Ont.) and BCBA. As a sole proprietor, she's all in! Melissa brings experienced leadership and "humbition" (humble + ambition) to designing supportive spaces for peer connection and professional development driven by what EP members actually need.

About the requirements

I don't even know what the SAG is, let alone how to complete it.
You're not alone. It's one of the most common things people are stuck on. The SAG (Self-Assessment Guide) is part of your CPBAO declaration and it trips people up because the instructions aren't always clear. This is exactly the kind of thing we work through together. You also get access to asynchronous videos and learning modules that help walk through the things you're just needing explained differently.
I don't know when my declaration is due.
CPBAO registrants are assigned a 2-year cycle based on whether their certificate number is even or odd. If your certificate number is even, you're following an even-year cycle (July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2026) and are probably due this June 30th. If it's odd, your cycle runs July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2027. Make sure to log in to your CPBAO member portal to confirm what you need to do, or reach out to the CPBAO directly.
I'm confused about activities that overlap between my BACB and CPBAO requirements. Can I count the same thing in both?
This is one of the trickiest parts of dual certification and one of the most common questions in the community. The short answer is: sometimes yes, with conditions. Working through the specifics together is exactly what peer check-ins are for.
What if I get audited and some of my activities don't meet requirements?
This is worth thinking about, and the community is a good place to do it. Understanding what documentation you need, how much buffer to build in, and how others are approaching audit readiness are exactly the kinds of questions that benefit from peer discussion rather than guessing alone.
Does this replace my supervision or CE requirements?
No. Ethically Possible is a peer community, not a supervision relationship. Community activities may support you with your CPD tracking and activities (particularly Section A), and qualifying events issue BACB CEU certificates through our ACE Provider status. But this does not replace formal supervision, and members are responsible for their own compliance documentation. (Tip: you must keep your CPBAO records for at least 5 years) However, you will be part of a peer community that is happy to share guidance and resources.
I need more than a community can offer. I need to find actual PD activities to fill my gaps.
The community is where everything starts, but it's not the only thing Ethically Possible offers. Inside the community, peer interaction activities count directly toward your CPBAO categories. Beyond that, members actively shape what comes next. Ethically Possible will offer both practice opportunities and structured learning, including curated searches for relevant external PD events your peers can do alongside you and reconvene to debrief (which counts as peer interaction), as well as activities built around what members actually need: journal reviews, ethical case scenario sessions, and more. Come for the connection, stay for the support and PD activities driven by what you and your peers need next.

Yes, Community Activities Can Support Your CPD Hours

Time spent in Ethically Possible activities can contribute directly to your CPBAO Continuing Professional Development requirements, particularly Section A (Professional Interaction & Interdisciplinary Activities), which is where most people get stuck. The community is built around it.

Community activities can also support your EDI, ethics and jurisprudence, and supervision content-hour requirements when the discussion content is relevant.

Every tracked activity requires a brief reflection on how it enhanced your knowledge, skill, and judgment. Peer discussions are a natural place to develop and refine those reflections. You're not writing them alone.

The CPBAO does not endorse specific providers. Members are responsible for determining which activities qualify and documenting their own CPD hours. Ethically Possible is a BACB ACE Provider (IP-26-12552), issuing CEU certificates for qualifying events. For definitive CPD guidance, consult the CPBAO directly (www.cpbao.ca).

What Most of Us Have Been Doing

Opening the CPBAO documentation, reading it twice, closing it, and telling yourself you'll figure it out next week. Then sitting down to catch up and realising it's turned into a full workday spread across multiple days, still not completely sure everything is in the right category.

That's how most of us have been doing it. There's a more supportive way.

You don't have to figure it out alone.

About the Founder

Melissa Legree

Ethically Possible is founded and operated by

Melissa Legree, M.ADS, RBA(Ont.), BCBA

I'm passionate about supporting clinical professionals, students, and organizations in facilitating lasting, meaningful change by remaining current in ethical best practices, including innovating to bridge the gap between research and real-world clinical practice. As a BCBA and RBA(Ont.) with 20+ years in the field, I bring both professional expertise and lived experiences to my work in ethical practice and my growing focus on implementation science.

My work spans private, public, and nonprofit sectors across clinical, educational, community, and judicial settings. I specialize in making ethics practical and engaging through course instruction, mentoring, training, and consultation; exploring implementation science approaches to strengthen practice sustainability; developing leaders who can navigate complex ethical decisions with confidence; and creating digital programs and resources that translate research into action.

In my experience, the most impactful leaders inspire meaningful and sustainable improvements using transparent and reflective leadership practices. In my own reflections as a leader, I strive to energize impact through actions that are: focused on possibilities, transparently learning forward, and affect meaningful change with integrity and kindness.
